It got ingame events added even after its got delisted.įor 8, T10 has seemingly wanted to position the game as more "serious" to get a slice of the enthusiast sim community that's gotten real strong the past few years.īut in the end they put out the game that is not actually serious enough to be entertained by people who primarily play games like iracing, rfactor, assetto corsa and its simply not appealing enough for the more casual base because they neutered all the "fun" out of the game. FM7 was still charting well and often popped up in the most played lists years after its release. I think it's more that FM has an identity crisis. It really felt like the focus was gonna be on building your own team and competing in proper competitions, championships, but alas. What's funny is that looking at the original trailer: View: Unfortunately it seemed to be absolutely not their focus to the point where the career mode structure and progression genuinely feels like it was slapped on in the last few months of dev time. Plus we have several Gran Turismo games to copy from, or a lot of codemasters games - Grid 1 in particular had a really good one.į1 career mode is amazing, and it follows the real F1 structure, so obviously it would need some modification to work with a game like Forza, but certainly, there's a lot of talented devs at T10, I'm sure in the 6 years they could've come up with something similiarly engaging and interesting. FM1-2-3-4 all had great career progression with a good diversity of events, good progression curve, good extra fluff. I mean, we had far far far better career modes in this very franchise alone. ![]()
